In multiple cultures cockscomb is considered a sacred plant with
the power to heal and protect individuals. In Christianity, it symbolizes
salvation, divine grace and joy. In Indian mythology, it represents the Goddess
Lakshmi, one of my favorites, as she is the goddess of wealth and prosperity;
the same attributes are found in Chinese culture. Further in Hinduism, this
flower symbolizes spiritual awakening and connection to the divine. In African
cultures, it is recognized as a fertility symbol. Purple is also associated with
a high level of self-awareness, vitality, third eye, higher self, passion,
fulfillment, and connection with the universe.
